Magic Circle on March 15 2005. All the magician’s traditional
tools of the trade: rabbits, top hats, playing cards and spotted
scarves feature on the five interactive stamps in the Magic! issue.

San Marino
leads tsunami relief
SAN Marino was the first post office to announce details of a
stamp issue to benefit the tsunami relief fund.
Emmerdale stamps out Coronation Street and The Bill - by a small
margin!
IN an extremely closely contested poll, the Emmerdale stamp was chosen
by the British public to be included as the '1st' stamp in the set
marking the 50th anniversary of ITV due on September 15 this year.
British 2006 special stamps
ELEVEN special issues have been announced for
2006 by Royal Mail.
Turkey issues 'new lira' stamps
ON January 1 2005 the Turkish PTT issued 16 new definitives
bearing the country's new currency which was introduced on the
same day.
Stamp Scandal!! site stays open
FOLLOWING the announcement that the Stamp Scandal!! website
was to close down it received so many e-mails to continue its
campaign against illegal stamp issues that it will remain operative. Also

Royal Wedding issue
not dismissed
ROYAL Mail has not dismissed suggestions that a special stamp
issue will be produced for the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince
Charles and
Mrs Camilla Parker-Bowles on April 8 2005.
Stampex 2006 and 2007 dates
THE Philatelic Traders' Society has
announced the dates of the four Stampex exhibitions in 2006 and
2007.
Tristan da Cunha's remote islands
A
UNIQUE series of closely linked stamp issues has been conceived
and researched by the residents of the remote islands of the
South Atlantic. Not only are these islands remote, to many
of us they are virtually unknown.
Hanworth house heist
A collection of 12 albums was stolen from a house in Hanworth,
Middlesex, during the weekend of January 15/16 2005. Total value
of the material is said to catalogue at approximately £30,000.
Pacific Explorer takes Tapling on board
ONE of the greatest stamp collections ever compiled will
be on show at the Pacific Explorer 2005 World Stamp Expo
to be held
in Sydney on April 21 to 24 2005.
