DO you realise that there are 57 different postal administrations in Europe that are entitled to issue stamps for every flyspeck they deem worthwhile?
This year 52 of them will issue a total of 89 Europa stamps on the common theme of 'Integration as Seen by Young People' ...

Little old lady?
I am sure that whenever Vera Webster gets on a crowded bus or train someone will get up to give up their seat to the 'little old lady', but first impressions can be wrong. Despite what the calendar says, at 87 Vera Webster is not really old, as is the usual perception of old age - she is still very much with it and knows the stamp trade better than anyone else ...

The embossed head design was taken from the Wyon City Medal of 1837, and evidence and acknowledgement of this is beneath the Queen's bust (eg WW1 etc) ...

Major Maori stamp mess
AS reported in the PE last month a very controversial saga is unfolding in New Zealand in relation to the unissued June 7 2006 Maori design stamps.
These stamps, due to be issued June 7, were to highlight Maori Performing Arts, ie ‘ Kapa Haka ’ .
There were five stamps in the planned set - 45c, 90c, $1.35, $1.50, and $2 values - shown nearby. They were printed in the usual sheet form, but the letter rate 45c was also printed in self-adhesive format in rolls of 100, and in booklets of ten ...
