About the company
CPO has 60 staff based at our premises in West Worthing within walking distance of the station. We publish a range of Christian and Trade newspapers and magazines and are the leading UK supplier of publicity resources to churches and church groups. We deal with all stages of the production process.

About the job
We are looking for an experienced advertisement salesperson - ideally with industry knowledge - to sell to existing client base and proactively source new clients for our monthly trade publication Philatelic Exporter, as well as assisting with two of our regular Christian publications, Inspire and Faithworks magazines. Working in a small team with two other senior salespeople, you will be expected to sell and develop the publication’s advertisement sales, including via the website, using imagination, flair and hard work! The role will involve:

• Service and maintain records of existing advertisers. Canvass new clients, aiming to achieve, or better, current revenue targets through sales of advertisement space and loose/bound-in inserts
• Ensure that all ad copy meets company standards
• General development of the website
• Liaise with line manager, other sales team members and other departments as appropriate to ensure smooth production process
• Be responsible for the advertisement side of the accounting computer system, handling day-to-day processing, altering, cancelling, producing reports etc
• Check and proof read publications, including lineage on monthly basis
• Check publications for invoicing and that advertisements appear correctly as booked
• Deal with and answer accounts queries in conjunction with accounts department
• Be responsible for all administration relating to the publications, including page planning, running expiries, printouts, keying orders on to the system, mail shots and media packs. Keep back issues up to date. Keep accounts side of system up to date ie rate changes, colour status
• Deal with advertising complaints as necessary

• High level of computer literacy
